Jesús Ureña was born in Alcalá la Real, Jaén, Spain. He received BS and MS degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from the UPM, Madrid, Spain, in 1986 and 1992, and the Ph.D. degree from the U. of Alcalá, Madrid, Spain, in 1998. His current research interests are in the areas of low-level ultrasonic signal processing, local positioning systems and railway distributed sensory systems. He is currently serving as Associate Editor for IEEE Trans. on Instrumentantion and Measurements and for Sensors (MDPI).
