The use of combat drones has been existing for more than a century. Only in recent years have we witnessed how the evolutionary process with the advancement of technology has turned into a real revolution. The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 was one of the turning points in the application of this disruptive technology for combat purposes. As never before, the mass use of combat drones has not decisively influenced the outcome of a conflict. Due to the importance of the mentioned conflict, an SWOT analysis of the possibility of using combat drones in local conflicts was performed. The conclusions drawn can help both in understanding the outcome of the conflict and in defining the direction in which the further application of these combat systems will progress in the future.

Wine production is directly related to the environmentally responsible production. In recent years, due to demands for an environmentally responsible wine production in the Republic of Serbia, wine producers have become aware of the environmental responsibilities and are taking measures to prevent environmental problems. The objective of this research was to investigate attitudes of winery owners/managers on business performance of the wineries concerning the environmental behavior and its disclosure. The research has been conducted in the period from July to the end of October 2021 on a sample of 330 small wineries in the Republic of Serbia. The data were processed in the Smart PLS software v.3.2.7. The findings show a positive connection between of both service and financial performance with an ethical environmental behavior and environmental disclosure. However, no positive connection between innovative performance and ethical environmental behavior or ethical environmental disclosure has been determined. The positive attitudes of managers on the environment influence the business performance of wineries and indirectly on environmental behavior and disclosure. The current study should contribute to the relevant literature, as it investigates not only firm behavior in the wine sector, but also the impact of firm performance on the environment.

Botanical areas under international protection are important for preserving plant and animal ecosystems. Forest ecosystems within Important Plant Areas (IPAs) are essential for preserving biological and species diversity. In AP Vojvodina (Northern Serbia), there are 27 IPAs, totaling 328,208 ha. Fruška Gora National Park (FGNP) territory is under international protection as an IPA. A large part of this park is covered by a forest ecosystem comprising various deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs, and grasses. The forest ecosystem in FGNP is rich with natural attractions that are important for hiking, mountaineering, trekking, scientific tourism, wildlife, bird and animal watching, and community tourism. In this article, the authors used a quantitative method of collecting and processing data obtained through survey research. For this research, 610 respondents (325 residents and 285 visitors) were surveyed. Using questionnaires, the respondents expressed their opinions about the tourism potential of FGNP, as well as the satisfaction of tourists with current tourism development. The research results indicate that the forest ecosystem within the FGNP and IPA area has an important potential for the development of nature-based tourism (NbT) and that this tourism form significantly affects not only the satisfaction of the respondents but also increased awareness of the preservation and protection of these areas.

Fossil fuel depletion and soil and water pollution gave impetus to the development of a novel perspective of sustainable development. In addition to the use of plant biomass for ethanol production, plants can be used to reduce the concentration of heavy metals in soil and water. Due to tolerance to high levels of metals, many plant species, crops, non-crops, medicinal, and pharmaceutical energy plants are well-known metal hyperaccumulators. This paper focuses on studies investigating the potential of Miscanthus sp., Beta vulgaris L., Saccharum sp., Ricinus communis L. Prosopis sp. and Arundo donax L. in heavy metal removal and biofuel production. Phytoremediation employing these plants showed great potential for bioaccumulation of Co, Cr, Cu, Al, Pb, Ni, Fe, Cd, Zn, Hg, Se, etc. This review presents the potential of lignocellulose plants to remove pollutants being a valuable substrate for biofuel production. Also, pretreat-ments, dealing with toxic biomass, and biofuel production are discussed.

Ecosystems, water supplies, and tourism all benefit from the protection of forest regions. All the above affect the possibility for tourism to prosper in forested areas. Tikvara Nature Park (TNP) has significant tourist potential for the development of specific and sustainable forms of tourism because it has direct contact with the Danube River, which forms the Upper Danube Region. This nature park has a significant forested area, inhabited by rare species of flora and fauna. In addition, there are wetlands, which are inhabited by rare species of birds, aquatic animals, and plants. Ecological and socio-cultural sustainability are the subjects of research in this article. It was possible to observe all possibilities for the growth of tourism based on nature by analyzing sustainable tourism by applying an extended PoS study method. The results of this research indicate that the two examined dimensions have a significant impact on the state and perspective of tourism development in this nature park. Also, sustainable tourism has an impact on the satisfaction of respondents through ecological and socio-cultural factors of the destination. Analysis of the results indicates that the respondents are ready to harmonize their activities with ecological principles in this protected area. Researching these two dimensions of sustainable tourism development (STuD) is important for tourism planning, growth, and nature protection control. This study’s significant results demonstrate the importance of environmental and socio-cultural elements for tourism development (ToD), and their substantial influence on tourism sustainability (ToS) and local and visitor satisfaction. Plans for the growth of sustainable tourism might be significantly influenced by research findings.

The research in question analyzes the impact of mining wastewater on the quality of surface water of brown coal mines. Through careful statistical and chemical analysis, key parameters in surface water were investigated before and after the discharge of wastewater into surface water. The results indicate statistically significant variations, especially highlighting nitrates, nitrites, and sulfates. Identified periods of deviation provide the basis for the precise application of preventive and corrective measures. The results of the research are important not only for the mining industry but also for the preservation of ecosystems in the vicinity of brown coal mines. Targeted guidance of water treatment according to identified parameters provides practical guidelines for increasing treatment efficiency, with long-term positive effects on water quality and biodiversity preservation. The research contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the impact of mining activities on surface waters, providing scientifically based data for informed decision-making of mining operations and the preservation of aquatic ecosystems.
